Phase 3 Completedhands
From our donors on giving ...

I'm so happy that I can contribute to something so simple, yet powerful and needed! E.C., Merced, CA

My life has been made brighter by knowing that children who are hungry to learn, are now able to do that with peace surrounding them. This accomplishment just puts a huge grin on my face, and in my spirit! I also want to thank the Machao staff for their compassion and vision for the future of the world. C.M., Los Angeles, CA

Each time I wash my hands or read a book at night, I pause, give thanks, and am renewed knowing that the children of Machao can do the same. F.L., Fontana, CA

We have great news!  As of August 2011, the children of MACHAO have a source of power and light thanks to you, our donors. Now the children can see at night, which provides protection, and allows them to work on their educational pursuits. Thanks for being the difference in a child’s life.

In terms of population and land mass, Africa is the second largest continent in the world, trailing only Asia. But, a majority of the billion people living on the continent survive every day with little to no access to electricity.

Phase IV: Agricultural

"Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach him how to fish and he eats for a lifetime."

This is the motto of our new campaign for 2011-2012. Food costs and for 40 children, that cost is a lot. In an effort to help the children have a sustainable future, provision for food was the first thing that came to mind. Currently, our goal is to make sure that every orphan receives at least one nutritious meal per day. With the Agricultural Sustainability campaign, and the children's ability to raise their own food, we believe that they will have at least two and perhaps three nutritious meals per day.

Be the difference in a child's life and help us help them become self-sufficient.

The right to food is a human right derived from the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which recognizes the right to an adequate standard of living, including adequate food, as well as the fundamental right to be free from hunger.
