Power to the Children Project - Phase III
Electricity costs. Currently Machao uses paraffin to provide illumination which is toxic. Renewable energy can be particularly suitable for developing countries like Kenya. In rural and remote areas, like Makueni (where the orphanage is located), producing renewable energy locally can offer a viable alternative. Our desire is to provide solar panels which can be inverted into electricity. Renewable energy projects in many developing countries have demonstrated that renewable energy can directly contribute to alleviating poverty by providing energy for cooking, space heating, and lighting.
